Overall, I finished with profiting about $1600.00. Most of which came from slot machines. Here is the trick for you peps that go to Vegas and want to play slots; use the $1 machines, but with the machines with more than just the center line in the middle. Put about $100 into the machine and do max credits (meaning 5 lines for $5.) Yes, you can still lose and lose fast, but if you keep plugging away, you have a good chance on hitting something big. Especially try the Wheel of Fortune machines and try to get a chance to spin the wheel.
First big winnings from slots

$900 plus win at the Venetian (note that I went shit crazy when this happened)

This time in Vegas we stayed at the Wynn. It is a very very nice hotel. To be honest, I liked my room better at the Venetian, but the bathroom was a lot nicer at the Wynn and the view was great from the window. I didn't spend much time in my room, because I was either walking around, gambling or swimming. So it wasn't a big deal about the way the room looked.

All major Vegas hotels have glamorous shops. My favorite in my hotel was the Rolex Store. I wanted to rob the place. Every time I passed by I would daydream about getting a baller watch. I have been asking for a Rolex since I was a child. So expensive, but so beautiful. Wearing something like that bumps your status up tremendously. There was a lot of girl clothing, purse and jewelry stores there too, but that is more a woman thing, so I didn't pay much attention to it.
In an earlier post I said I was going to meet up with a couple of high school friends from home. Well I only met up with one. Kari has been my friend since elementary school. I hadn't seen her in years. Maybe 5 or so. She looked great. Better than she did back in the day, not like she was a dog or anything back then... We hung out for a while and had several drinks and talked and what not. It was great to see her and catch up. She lives in Arizona. She wants me to visit. We will see. I am a busy man and there are cooler places I rather go to. She was great company for the evening though.
I ate so well while I was there. Friday night we went to the restaurant called Switch. The walls and ceiling would change like every 30 min. It was fun to see it change. The food, wine and service was great. We all had a 3 course meal. It was expensive, but well worth it. My mother hooked it up of course. It was every one's favorite meal, though I think the final bill for dinner was close to $400. Sorry Mom.
Family outside of Switch.
Having a glass of the good stuff at Switch.
Another fun thing we had planned while we were there was to attend UFC 98. My brother is really into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Because he is so interested into it, it gets me interested as well. That's how you gotta be when you care for others. This was our second time seeing a major UFC event. We went to the weigh-ins on Friday afternoon. I met a lot a lot of fighters and got some good pics of the event.
Ariani, my favorite ring girl. She is probably the best in the biz.
Main Event: Rashad Evans (Champion) vs. Loyota Machita (Challenger) @ weigh-ins
To conclude the trip, we went to the official fight on Saturday night at the MGM Grand. We had a blast. There were a lot of good fights on the bill, especially the main event because I knew Machita would beat Evans for the title. We had probably the worst seats in the place, but in that place no seats are bad. Next time we will get better seats.
The family at the fight. I'm so bloated here.
Evans vs Machita
Loyota Machita the new Champion. It was an awesome finish.
Overall, the trip was great. It was great to get away and clear my head on a lot of things and it happened. I am back in Texas with a different mind set on a lot of things and its helping. I feel good myself, I feel refreshed. I believe it really is healthy to leave your comfort zone of home life and venture out for new experiences.
Would I ever live in Vegas? No. Do I wish I was back in Vegas now instead of being at work? Yes, but just for a few days.
